The land in the Catskill Mountains is heavily wooded. In the summer time, the lavish leaves on the tall trees keep the sunlight from reaching to the ground. There is a circular open space in a slightly higher ground, yet surrounded by the trees and bushes, it does not appear brighter than other place in the land. We recycled the color acrylic panels that were used for the Sundial project to create marks in the forest. We tried to learn lesson from the Sundial project and optimized the structure that fixed the panels to the ground. Yet, many panels fell to the ground after the first major storm. Interestingly, the panels that were installed at the apparent most windy spots and the top of the hill are still standing. It has been more than a year and through two winters. Our understanding of risk and danger seem different from the reality.
